Just a little info today!!!  Keyka Lou now has a new name!!!  You can find the same great info and wonderful patterns at Michelle Patterns!

I also wanted to let you know that Michelle has brought back all of the wonderful patterns that were discontinued at the beginning of the year.  They are now available through her blog at a super low price of only $3!!!

I used the dewdrop pattern to make this patchwork bag and got several emails lamenting that it was no longer available.  But now it's back!  :)

Also, I have 2 of the new Oliver and S patterns in the shop and they are so cute!

croquet dress

badminton skort, top and dress
I will also have these adorable patterns in the shop next week!!  They have shipped and will be here on Wednesday!  They are by the adorable and super talented Liesl Gibson who is the mastermind of Oliver and S.  They are from her new spin off company, straight stitch society.  I'm loving the cute apple and orange sewing kit pattern so much!

I'll be sure to post on my pinked fabrics FB page as soon as the patterns are listed.   I hope you all have a great weekend!!!

kid's cloth napkins

My girls really wanted to stay for lunch at school.  They were so excited when I said that they could today!  We bought lunch boxes last week and they had planned out exactly what food they wanted to make.

We use cloth napkins at home (to be environmentally friendly, not fancy!) and so I thought some fun, kid sized napkins would be a fun addition to their lunchbox.

I cut out 10 1/2" squares (2 squares for each napkin).  Then I basted the ric rac or ruffle trim onto the right side of one of the squares making sure to line up the edge of the trim with the edge of the square.  Then, I sewed two squares, right sides together, leaving a small opening for turning.  After turning them right sides out, all that is left to do is press them and topstitch!  SO easy but really fun and cute!!

I used Aneela's A Walk in the Woods for these!  I really love all of the sweet characters!  I hope everyone had a great Easter with your families!

Happy Easter!!!!

Happy Easter my lovelies!!

Look at that CRAZY hair!!!  :)

I made the girls some little snack mats for their Easter baskets.  They are 10" square.  I used linen and some  Dream On charm square scraps.  That line is so cheery and just screams spring to me!  I sewed some crocheted lace into the seams.

They were a last minute project (I made both of them yesterday) and would make cute gifts for any time of the year.  You could cut the applique section into any shape you wanted, a birthday cake, a Christmas tree, a truck.  The girls have been using them this morning to pretend that their littlest pet shop animals are having a picnic.

I got the adorable bunny template from Amy's blog and totally copied the cute little tags that she made.  I hope she doesn't mind!  That girl amazes me, everything she makes is gorgeous!!!

I made them the same except for the thread colors that I used for the hand quilting stitches.  Pippa's is pink.

And Adelaide's has yellow stitches.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!!  I'll have some fun little napkins to show you tomorrow!

birthday kitty

Penelope is turning 5 next week!  5!!!!  For some reason, to me, 5 is big.  I'm not usually sad to see them reach milestones and move on to the next stage but I am a little melancholy about this birthday.  She is so sweet and I don't want her to get big and snarky!  :)

Pippa is one of those kids that plays so carefully with her toys.  Here clothes always look brand new when they get passed to Adelaide (and then somehow look destroyed the first time Adelaide is done wearing them for the day!).  She's an old soul!  I knew she would treasure a kitty made from this adorable pattern the minute I saw it!

So....I made her one!

She is all sewn by hand, except for the dress.  My hand stitches got better as I went along and so I think the next one will be better but I am happy with the way she turned out and I know that Penelope will love her.  :)

I used some japanese fabric for her dress and some little cotton trim similar to this trim.  She is made out of wool blend felt.  The pattern was very well written and easy to follow.  Shelly, from Gingermelon, is super sweet and has the most adorable patterns in her shop!  She also has a lovely blog!

On another note, I have just signed up to go to the Sewing Summit!!!!  I'm SO excited!!!  Are any of you going????
