worst blogger ever

So, I am now, officially, the worst blogger ever!  I just got yelled at by my friend Virginia!  Of course, she didn't really yell at me, just some teasing via pinterest.  She pointed out that it has been a month since I've blogged.  Terrible!!!

By the way, Virginia has a brand new pattern available that looks so awesome!!!  Be sure to go and check it out!

We have had some family stuff going on here and to be honest I've been a little down.  I'm usually not the type to feel sorry for myself or anything but I've had a hard time getting motivated.  But now I'm back and I have some fun things to show you all!!!

I had a custom order for a really sweet customer!  She had loved the patchwork sewing kit that made with the Annie's farm stand fabric and asked if I could make her one like it.  I did!  She then asked for a patchwork, quilted zipper pouch to match and requested that I make her a strawberry shaped zipper pull.  Fun!!!  This is what I made.

It wasn't hard, just time consuming.  I cut the squares at 2" so that they finished at 1 1/2".  I made the zipper pull out of wool felt.

I have also been busy, slowly, working on 5 more sewing kits for the shop.  Here are my 2 favorites.

This is one of several new patterns that have been added!  I also got in a really fun tool for making pinwheels!  I can't wait to try it out!  Hexagons for english paper piecing are also in stock in several sizes.

The Walk in the Woods yardage should be shipping any day, for those of you that have been waiting!!!

I'm still here, I promise!

I'm sorry that I've been absent for so long.  There has been absolutely NO sewing going on here because the girls and I all had strep throat.  UGH!  Now, I think it has moved on to Doug.  :(

On a fun note, we (and by we, I totally mean Doug!) have been redoing our living room!  I will have some pics as soon as we have some furniture in there.  Right now it is almost totally empty as we got rid of all of our nasty old stuff to make way for something fresh and new.

The week before the sickness hit, I did get a fun ipad case sewn up for the shop.  The cocoon laptop cover pattern is another one by Florence of Flossie Teacakes and I loved it!  It's, obviously, for a laptop but she gives directions on how to size it for any device.  I love the pocket on the front, it makes it so nice to have a place to put your phone or a little notepad and pen.

It came together really easily.  I used cotton batting for the padding and natural colored linen and two Amy Butler prints for the fabrics.

Hopefully this week will be a little more productive!  Now I need to get back my sewing mojo so, please, tell me what all of you have been working on so that I can get inspired!!!!
